The Lord's Prayer

The original prayer taught by Jesus to his disciples when they asked him how to pray to God

Father, let your Holy Spirit come upon us, hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come.

Your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.

Give us day by day our bread for the coming day.

And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us.

And lead us not into temptation.

— The Gospel of The Lord 8:1

The name Yahweh is not used in the original prayer. God is addressed as Father — reflecting the intimate relationship between the Creator and His children as taught directly by Jesus Christ.

This is the unaltered form of the prayer as preserved in the Evangelion, the Gospel of The Lord, from the 144 A.D. canon.
